Paul D. Hoffman, DMD
Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology

Dr. Paul Hoffman is originally from the Albany / Saratoga New York area, where his family was in the hospitality industry (restaurant business) and real estate development.  He graduated from Boston College with Honors and went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University School of Dental Medicine.  He moved to Rochester for a Residency in Clinical Dentistry at University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Hoffman remained in Rochester to complete a Residency Program in Periodontics at University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center.  Immediately following his Residency, he joined Rochester Periodontal Group, PC to practice with his instructors, Drs. Halik and Billen and his Chairman at Eastman Dental Center, Dr. Alan M. Polson.  He subsequently completed the rigorous Specialty Board Certification Process and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Hoffman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Rochester and maintains affiliations with both Strong Memorial Hospital and Rochester General Hospital.  He is a consultant in Periodontics and Dental Implants to the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua and is a lecturer at Monroe Community College in the Dental Hygiene Program and through the Office of Workforce Development.

He is a member of Monroe and Livingston County Dental Societies, the Seventh District Dental Society, New York State Dental Association, the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration and International Team of Implantologists.  He’s a Fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.  He’s active in the Upper New York State Society of Periodontists and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Hoffman incorporated dental implants into his practice in 1988 and has been trained in most dental implant systems.  He remains actively involved in implant meetings nationally and internationally to stay at the forefront of this exciting area of dentistry.

He lives with his family in Pittsford and enjoys international travel, entertaining at home and lifelong learning.

 
   
Oren Weiss, DMD, MPH
Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology

Dr. Oren Weiss was born in New York City.  He moved to Israel when he was 5 years old.  He graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - Hadassah School of Dental Medicine founded by the Alpha Omega Fraternity and received the degree Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D), in 1993.  Following graduation he practiced dentistry in Israel and completed an 18 month residency in minor Oral Surgery.

In 1998, he came back to the United States to specialize in Periodontics and received his certificate in Periodontology from the University of Rochester, Eastman Dental Center in 2001 and his Board Certification from the American Board of Periodontology in 2002. After completion of a two-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Eastman Dental Center and passing National and Northeast Regional Boards, he was licensed in New York in 2003. During his specialty and residency training, he received the National Research Service Award and his Masters in Public Health from the University of Rochester.  He was full time on the faculty of the University of Rochester until September 2005 when he joined Rochester Periodontal Group.
 
Dr. Weiss has published in U.S. and international scientific journals.  His thesis research project and scientific paper at the University of Rochester received the R. Earl Robinson Regeneration Award, presented by the American Academy of Periodontology at its 2005 Annual Meeting to the paper that has contributed the most to the knowledge of periodontal regeneration.

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester and teaches at Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester Periodontal Residency Program.  He serves as a Periodontal and Implant consultant for the Veteran’s Administration and is a consultant for a health dispute resolution organization for dentistry. 

He is a member of the American Dental Association, The American Academy of Periodontology, 7th District Dental Society, Monroe County and Livingston County Dental Societies and the Academy of Osseointegration.  He is Vice President of Livingston County Dental Society. 

Dr. Weiss lives with his wife, Michal and their 3 daughters in Brighton.  He enjoys Political Science, History, fishing, skiing, tennis, and visiting family in Israel.
